Hey guys, well i just got my new tank, brand new and cheap as :) but i haven't got a background for it, and i've been thinking, what's everyones favorite background, please picture or describe.

currently for me, it's just a plain piece of black cloth hung behind the tank, looks good, makes my plants and jewel's show up, and makes the small pots the plants are in not stand out at all, as the substrate and background are black :)
 
Just put 3 coats of latex black house paint on the back glass. Although some of the 3 d backgrounds are pretty cool.
 
:iagree: i used spray can black on the back of my acrylic. used to have a 3-d foam and concrete on another tank but my oscar at the time kept beating its self up all the time when it swam in to the rough concrete.
 
I use 3 coats of latex black myself, or black cloth/linen. My next tank I intend to paint the bottom black as well and have the tank without gravel/sand. Just a few well placed rock caves and driftwood.

I think GreenTerra's tank below best demonstrates how well this can work. I don't think this works well with all fish tho.
