Ok, I'll be taking care of a very small featherfin catfish for my brother until it gets big..Any have any tips to guide me to care for this fish? He'll be staying in a 15 gal. with one baby GG..The tank is bare bottom and has driftwood..What do I feed this guy? Does he need substrate? Additional info. is appreciated..Thanks!!!:D:D

by featherfin i am assuming its a synodontis eupterus. They are very easy to care for and will any much anything that they can get into their mouth. just keep the water clean and the food consistent and he will do great. You can use anything from frozen foods like worms and shrimp to sinking pellets. Gravel should not be needed but he will need some structure to hide around/in to feel secure

oh ok man thanks for helping out! I think driftwood will provide him refuge

They're definitely easy to take care of. They can be aggressive at times, but being that small I think you should be fine. They're really cool fish. I have a 5-6" one in my 50 gallon.

That catfish grows ridiculously fast. You'll find yourself taking care of an 8" monster in no time at all. That 15g is too small. IMO, keep that fish in a larger tank.

he is still small man 1" more or less..I will move him to 75gal when he gets big but if I do it now arowana might eat him..

i got one thats 10 inches and i also got a baby one thaqts about 2 inches and i got him when he was about a half inch and i had it for 3 weeks so far in a 20 gal so they do grow fast just make sure he is feed well and the water is clean and he will be fine

he doesn't seem to eat the sinking pellets I put in...does he eat only algae when he is small coz i see him sucking the glass like a pleco and sometimes sucking the driftwood..he just hides and won't eat..

mine is verry mellow hes not aggressive at all the only time he was somewhat agressive is when i had my 11in pleco and they used to fight so i sold the pleco
