anyone used feather rock before? i have a nice peice in the yard i want to clean off and used in my 120 but its kinda sharp. i think its somehow like lava rock. you can also buy it at lowes so i wanna get some more if i can use it.

Feather rock is all I use in my Mbuna tanks. The only one that seems to have a problem with the abrasiveness of the rock is ME when I'm trying to get them arranged just right.
Just make sure that the one from your yard hasn't been exposed to pesticides, fertilizer or animal urine.
BTW, if it is truly Feather rock, it will float when you put it in water. Use the search feature to see the solution to sinking it.

yea i just read up on it it said its fine just watch out for the cat fish getting scratched on it so im gonna throw it in my 65 gal instead . but it said to boil it (dont think i have a big enough pot) i guess ill figure it out somehow and then put it in cold water the it should sink. thanks for the help. im gonna try to get somemore from lowes this week.
