i had a featherfin who was very boistruss and allways upto no good, looking for trouble around every corner so i would have to say no just from my own experience
Same here. I've got three Synodontis eupterus and three Pimelodus pictus in my 50gal tank. The pictus swim around while the Synodontis hang to the driftwood upside-down.
They can mix yes... Just watch the featherfin they can be little sods.... Especially with other cats alsthough i have a 10" Hemi syno cat in with a 8" Pim, ornatus with no problems so far.

I had the two together with a whole other mess of bottom feeders. I feed a lot, change the water frequently, and there are more hiding spots than I ever imagined (trying to catch a fish means dismantling the whole thing). Everyone gotten along just fine for months and months...
