Featherfins or Kigoma furcifers?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I kept a group of furcifer a while back. Had a few spawns too. Amazing fish, as long as a few basics are followed. c. Furcifers are featherfins btw. The price for f0 is real high because they don't ship well at all. F1's are readily available, much cheaper, and will color up much faster than wc fish. Some WC groups can take MONTHS before a male will start to flash color. furcifer and foai should be kept in a species tank with sand. No gravel. These fish love to sift and dig bowers for spawning. A happy featherfin is a colored up featherfin and they will appreciate the sand much more than gravel. Very few rocks in the tank are needed.

Fish of the genus opthalmotilapia (boops, nasutus, etc) are much more outgoing featherfins and can be kept with other fish.
