Hey Guys,

First time i'm posting a question post on here so go easy.

I've had the pleasure of raising a Jag from about 3cm all the way up to what it is now at 13cm. I have to say it has grown so fast!

Well i've been feeding it exclusivly NLS pellets and this afternoon I fed for the first time some frozen shrimp (thawed out of course).

Just came home from training to find it resting on the bottom. But when i approach the tank it still swims right up to me like i'm going to feed it more.

I've never ever seen it just resting on the bottom like that and i'm just getting a little worried I might of made it sick or something?

Is it bad I gave it a shrimp? In fact it was only half a shrimp! I've always thought these fish love to eat shrimp as well as pellets?

Any reply appreciated.

Thanks!

Jags sit around in one place sometimes, sounds perfectly normal to me. I think you have nothing to worry about unless she starts resting on her side lol. She's a beauty, btw.

both my jags spend a lot of time just hanging out on the bottom with the male actaully resting on the gravel and the female usually an inch above. guess the male does it when hes taking a break from trying to catch convicts and digging.

Did you feed it to him in small chunks or just throw in half a shrimp?
Shrimp is great for his diet. He is probably just lazy trying to digest all that.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Yeh I just threw the half shrimp in there, next time i should probably cut it up a little more...

Was really hoping it was a male!
