The last 4 times I've bought live plants on Ebay (from different sellers each time) I've recieved either dead plants, not the plant I ordered, or a dead plant that was not the kind I ordered. Today was the later. (I ordered jungle val and got a bushel of rotted money wort) Previously it has been like pulling teeth to straighten out the issues with each seller. I haven't heard back yet from the seller I'm currently dealing with. I'm just going to stop buying live plants via Ebay.

Anyone reccomend a source where you've been usually satisfied and *ts not insanely expensive?

These days I usually buy my plants from local club fish auctions, but before I started doing that I did use to buy them from Aquabid. Think I used Aquabid 4-5 times for plants and got pretty healthy Anubias, java fern and Java moss.

With that said you'll probably find some of the same people selling on Aquabid as you will Ebay so I'd guess its more or less hit or miss.

Do you have an aquarium club in your area?
I used to get most plants from people in my local club.
There were 2 or 3 people in the club that had green thumbs and brought plants to all swap meets, and auctions, and compared to on-line were usually much larger, healthier and way less expensive.

Just bought 3 xl java fern attached to lava rock from https://aquariumplants.com/ and I got an extra plant too. The order was from eBay. Check it out. I was completely satisfied. Came in alive and green.

I just ordered 10x sagittaria chilensis, and 10x vals. Should be in on Thursday, I will post here and show and tell.

Have you attempted collecting your own?
As I often say: hard to get cheaper than free!

I use to get plants from crystal creek, but is appears they are no longer in business.
More recently I’ve been getting random plants from petsmart(individually packaged, not in tank) and from a couple fish shops. I did just join a fb group for planted tanks and have seen a lot of cool plants being offered for great prices.
Maybe look for a planted fb group in your area. If it’s anything like the one here you won’t be disappointed.

I’ll be trying out plants from amazon come summer.

That sucks that eBay has had such crappy sellers.

I've bought from my aquarium club members before but no one has brought much in the way of plants lately. The one lady who was really good for that moved away.

Local wild plants have already died off for the year. Won't be much worth collecting until mid-late spring.

Thank you, everyone for the suggestions. I'm looking into each of them.

Aquarium Coop ships plants. The company has a good rep in terms of customer service but the prices may be higher on plants to compensate. I never even looked because I just use plastic plants with my clown loaches
