FedEx... be careful!!!

:character0087: i do ebay a lot and ship computers and laptops. yesterday i had a big box with a combo package. since it was too big to put into another box i decided to ship it as is on it's original sealed box. i check all the tracking numbers to make sure it has gone out of the door. to my suprise... the tracking no. for the combo unit which was worth $1,000 was not scanned. and i called fedex... they said they never received it!!! :WTF:

this is the fedex here in orange county, CA at the corner of orangethorpe and valley blvd. surely they have cameras. i will fill a report to the police and check the video cam tapes if i can. but it seems my $1,000 is gone. due to crooks inside fedex. so.. next time you're shipping an item.. make sure they scan it right infront of you. specially if the item is expensive. i usually drop it off since i never had any problem.. but now... not anymore.:character0087:

sorry to hear. I hope the cops get the evidence that you need to nail those crooks or incompetent fedex employees.
 
i went back today at the fedex station.. i tried to observe if cameras were installed. no in the entrace. the manager said they will investigate and review the internal camera inside.. yeah right... they can just delete it. well, i'll file a complaint at the police station. let's make their ASS turn and realize that we don't tolerate such acts.

Thanks for the heads up.Its amazing how much trust is placed in companies like fedex and ups,Im sure they have theft problems like any other company
 
Sorry to hear about this! I think you gave the best advice when you said to make sure that they scan and do all pick-up procedures in front of you if possible, while it isn't someone's fault their item was stolen, the best thing we can do is take as much responsibility of our own stuff as possible. Sadly the world including any of these companies/people are not always honest or perfect, even if we should be able to we can't always put all of our faith in them alone. I really hope you get the money back and this is a really bad thing to hear. Good luck with this situation and I hope it can be resolved in your favor. This is really a crappy thing to have happen.
 
I would get there fast before the tapes are overwritten or anything else :) But chances are the employee that took it knows where these cams are and you are very well just out of luck....
 
I do that all the time, Just drop off my labeled packages. All they have to do is pick them up and place them in there car, its gone for ever. The worse part is at the counter, they ask 10 questions about the contents of the packages today.
