Spring is coming and the ice is finally melting. Havent had a monster during summer before, so Im thinking of going to a lake and netting out baby northen perch and pike for my SH to munch on. Is this a bad idea, considering parasites and such?

If you quarantine them it should be fine.

Spring is once again coming and I still want to get some cheep feeders..

so how do you quarantine fish, and for how long? I got a spare 5g tank

Also, if I stick 30 feeders in a tank with a couple of bleheri, will they chase them all down at once or just feed when they get hungry?

problem is there is no feederfish to buy here.. a single guppy is about 2-3 euro, same with tetras

that's impossible :o they don't have feeder goldfish over there??? If that really is the case i wouldn't give them any live fish (unless you decided to breed your own feeders)

hi
in my opinion,i wouldnt bother feeding your bleheri live fish, why not try them on live earth worms or crickets or shrimp.
once the channa gets bored of chasing the feeder fish it will just leave them lone.the worms and crickets are easier to catch.

Yea it is eating bloodworm and shrimp atm. I just want a cheap shoal of small fish that it could munch on. But I guess Ill stick to his ordinary diet :)
