What do you guys feed yours?

List what you have( How big) and their daily diet plus treats.

1x Maculicauda ( 6"TL)
2x Synspilum ( male 5" female 6")
1x Argentea ( 3")
2x Hartwegi ( 2" and 3.5")
1x Zonatus ( 2")

my Vieja Collection is growing fast but they get fed

I dry out Romaine lettuce in the oven for 3 minutes on low broil bottom rack so moisture isn't there then chop it up in the magic bullet along with 25 hikari staple large pellets. Add water put it in a plastic container press it so most of the water extrudes then put it in the ice tray and freeze it. I also do this with peas. Thats their main meal. Every other day they get half a cube of Hikari brine shrimp each and for treats krill and the occasional Earth worm and some times a bloodworm cube.

What do you guys do!

Pellets:

NLS
Massivore
Hikari Sticks

Frozen:
Bloom worms
Earth worms in oatmeal (with vitachem)
Krill
Beef heart
Shrimp
Brine shrimp

Vieja as adults are fruit and plant eaters in nature, but as we all know, cichlids are opportunists and will eat any and everything, which gives balance in nature. The problem is, when we feed too much animal protein, it messes with their liver. Especially mammal protein, basically undigestable for these.
I try to feed 90% veg (peas, romaine (other leafy plants ), algae, spirulina based pellets) at the most 10% shrimp, insects, never mammal.
I have kept
argentea
zonata
regani
bifasciata
and though not vieja, pearsei and bocourti
and now keeping breidori, Paraneetroplus and Chuco

Pellets

NLS
HBH

and various pellets sometimes flake...

Frozen

market shrimp
Brine

Hikari Cichlid Excel
Hikari Cichlid Bio-gold+
Hikari Cichlid Gold
Omega one pellets
Sinking carnivore wafers
Algae wafers

Earthworms
Crawdads

Occasionally lettuce and peas.

I keep~

P. synspilium (2 @ 8")
V. argentea (1 @ 7")
P. maculinda (1 @ 4")

and have kept P. zonatus and V. regani.

They'll eat anything and don't have bloat issues, so I don't worry about lots of veggies.

Just for fun, here's what Fishbase has for some Vieja food items. Only one listed is black belt.

Black Belt - fruits of unspecified aquatic plants, seeds of unspecified aquatic plants, fruits of unspecified terrestrial plants, seeds of unspecified terrestrial plants
