We often read MFK posts that depict the ridculous pricing often associated with Craislist listing for aquarium equiptment. I am in the market for a smaller tank to go into my home office and fit into a specific space within the office. I saw a Craigslist listing for a 75 gallon tank, black pine stand with dual doors, a fluval 405 canister filter, a Coralife 48 inch Deluxe Lunar Series light fixture with Flourescent and bluemoon-glow LED lighting w/ cooling fan, (4) T-5 10k daylight lamp bulbs, heater, 2 siphon hoses by Aqueon (Similar to the Python), gravel, rocks and drift wood. The Craiglister was originally asking for $500. I negotiated the package down to $400. I'm asking if this is a good deal. I have checked pricing for the items and I feel that I'm at a major advantage. The Craiglister has posted pics and all of the items are in excellent condition. I see the pics. The tank is clean. The filter looks nearly new. All of the pieces to this package are in great condition. I will go pick up the items tomorrow. Give me your feedback.

I would say get it. The filter alone is $200, tank $75, Stand $75, Lights $25, and extra $25.....I would get it.

I would also say go for it, I bought a 90gal. w/stand, canape, Fluval canister filter,Lights, aqua 70 hob filter for $400.00 I felt I got a great bargain.

Thanks guys . . . Just as I thought! What about using the Coralife lighting in a freshwater tank? I've heard that usage of lunar lighting on freshwater tanks can create algae problems. Do you guys know if this is true and are there any other problems associated with freshwater tanks and lunar lighting? I'd love to see my fish in a nocturnal setting.

with all that great stuff you wont have to buy anything else (maybe another filter), I have payed less for all my tanks, but they never came with that great of stuff. Go for it if its what you want.

And those lights are worth way more than $25 dollars as suggested by a previous poster.

wow were do u shop at for those prices? the filter is the only thing close to being retail. just put it this way i belive that lighting cost over 200$ retail if it is the one i remember.

op- its a good deal expecially if everything works good. down here in fl i wouldnt pay that much but i imagine its not like that up there.

I agree. I know that the Coralife w/ blue moon glow lights and daylight and 4 bulbs are worthmuch more than $25. I priced them on AquaDepot for $294 and that was their sale price. They had the MSRP for $372, which is pretty much what the Craigslister stated that he paid for them. He actually said he paid $400.

I agree with you. The package is worth much more than that MFK poster suggested. I think he thought that the lighting was just a regular flourescent fixture. He probably did not realize what type of product Coralife makes.

Yep!. I'm going to pick it up in the morning. I have a question for you guys:
