I'm looking for feedback on my flowerhorn tank. Just added the PFS and rocks, but I'm not sure I like it yet. One of my goals was to hide the two sponge filters.

If you watch the whole video, I get a good shot of the FH at the end.

Any ideas how to make it nicer?

awsome tank but i cant tell you what you like. now i like having a free floating plastc plant in the tank

It's a 75 gallon tank. I'm running an AquaTop 500, AC 500 and two hydro-V sponge filters.

I'm already on the hexamita and treating with epsom salt as directed in your thread. This literally just started. Actually, the day of the video is the fist time I had noticed it. I found your thread and started treating last night.

Ok on the hex treatment, just wanted to make sure that wasn't missed.

While I'm not sure what an Aqua Top 500 is, if you had 2 AC 500's (110's) on that tank you could easily do away with the sponge filters, as well as the rock piles, which will only act as a waste collector. I'm not a big fan of sand with large fish such as FH as all it takes is one well placed sand particle in your filter & your impeller can get jammed up. But that's your call. Personally I like a light skiff of gravel on the bottom for the waste to settle in, makes for easy removal on WC day & gives the fish something to move around. IMO a little mental stimulation is a good thing, and if kept clean is just as disease free as a bare bottom tank.

I have one bare bottom FH tank, only because the male in that tank got into the habit of packing gravel aound in his mouth, so much so that he would manage to push the gravel out through his lower gill cover & stretch the skin there until it would almost tear. I taped a garbage bag from the underneath to cut out the light from shining under the tank, but I would have much preferred to leave the gravel.

You lost me there, Cam. He's got a black background by the looks of it, what more does he need in that tank for his fish to look good?
