feeder crickets as bait?

home raised fish are held in different context than home raised bugs.

there are a lot more specific regulations regarding live bait fish transportation/collection aside from what i posted. It'd be a waste of time to post and read when the dfg already has it up.

know the laws (i believe someone was popped for selling leopard sharks recently)

if you read the dfg regulations, you will see (at least for my zone) that it is only legal to use certain fish from the same body of water where taken. hence trout (there is a separate law re trout) ,bluegill, feeders etc would be illegal to use even if from the same body of water.


what is fishsniffer's site and where are you located big red? Check pm.


by the way, did i mention i invented anchovies? and that sardines were invented by my friend capt g?
 
Yea ive caught some monster bluegill of crickets. Make sure you use a small hook. Theyre annoying as hell to fish with tho. Their bodies are soft and bluegills snatch them right of your hook.

Not really, I questioned the warden myself about that issue the day that they had to confirm me buying my live cricket from a local bait shop. And the fear is the spread of parasites/diseases that can cause something that seems so little into something that you would've never expected. All it takes is the fish to eat the object filled with contagious parasites/diseases or even just swim in the same body water to effect the entire population.
Such as those few koi with herpes that was released into Clear Lake and over 50,000 carps died all over the lake almost making the carp extinct. And I think I've mentioned this before.
 
I never said anything about using blue gill as bait for the record. I was fishing for bluegill with crickets.

the herpes really screwed up the carp in lake mojave too.

That is very interesting about the warden confirming where you got your crickets.

Speaking of SoCal, whatever did happened to those two guys that was blamed for the death of that black sea bass? Did they ever won their court case? :confused:
