there are a lot more specific regulations regarding live bait fish transportation/collection aside from what i posted. It'd be a waste of time to post and read when the dfg already has it up.

know the laws (i believe someone was popped for selling leopard sharks recently)
if you read the dfg regulations, you will see (at least for my zone) that it is only legal to use certain fish from the same body of water where taken. hence trout (there is a separate law re trout) ,bluegill, feeders etc would be illegal to use even if from the same body of water.
