Hi i have a jack dmepsey almost 4 inches when should i start givin it feeder fish i buy em for my turtle but hes a brute and can take big ones and i plan on keepin em for a bit and treten em so im sue they dont got diseases when should i get em? hes an eatin machine and i tihnk hed eat em now?

If it's eating pellets, stick with that. There is no reason to feed it live food if it accepts pellets or other "dead" food.

Even your turtle shoud not eat goldfish. It's healthy for your fish to eat prepared foods.

I had nothing but trouble with feeders,it fun to watch but not a necessity. Toss in some crickets and some nightcrawlers now and then for variety

hell eat rosies or guppies with no problems, but its not like he needs them if he takes pellets. it is fun to watch tho!

If they are eating pellets, you shouldn't be feeding feeder fish to the dempsey unless if you're breeding them yourself. It is isn't worth the risk, even if "treated", especially with the prevelance of internal parasites and camallanus these days.
