Hi

I need to build a pond to breed any low maintenance feeder fish (goldfish, etc.)
But I'm not sure what kind of requirements I need for them.
I need them to breed rapidly!
So:
1. What fish should i use?
2. It gets fairly cold where I live (not snow or anything like that), so would I need heaters for the pond?
3. What would be decent dimensions for the pond to be so that the fish can spawn and grow rapidly?

Convicts or livebears....

A couple of rubbermaids with live plants.

does feeding convicts to your fish deplete them of vitamins, like goldfish?

temp won't be an issue with goldfish....mine survive with the top of the pond being frozen

Warmer temps. and water changes will help w/ growth.

livebearers will breed the fastest and are inexpensive to maintain. a heater would be necessary to keep livebearers outside year round. the size of the pond wouldn't need to be huge. even a 500 gallon would be overkill
