Sorry if this has been covered before, but I did a search and couldn't really find too much on it. Anyways, I have a little 10g tank laying around and was thinking of turning it into a little feeder fish tank. I guess I am just wondering what the best kind of setup is to keep them healthy and parasite free before feeding them to my red/yellowtail cudas. I was thinking of just getting a little hang on the back filter, some parasite drops, and a decent brand of fish food as well as not cramming the tank full of the little guys... They have to die soon anyways, may as well give them a nice life before being consumed :) Basically I want to give my cudas a healthy meal and not have to worry about diseases. Any information/pointers would be much appreciated!

get some guppy feeders is the best way.all goldfishes are all meant to have parasite disease.

Where's the best place to get them at online? Most of the pet stores around my place want like $1.00 each :screwy:

shame you are in the wrong country for my help.
We trap ours out of local creeks. I use clean dechlorinated water with salt 2gm/litre, bicarb to about 7.5 ph, epsom salt at 1 tbsp per 5 litres (roughly 1 gallon). and then put the feeders directly into that when caught. I then take them home and do a 3 day formalin treatment. i keep them in a 10 gallon/45 litre tank with at least 2gm per litre of salt. no heating and a sponge filter.

Goldfish cause issues with thiaminaise. which stops the predator being able to absorb nutrients from their gut, resulting in eventual death.

Well, I always have wanted to go to Australia! haha. Sounds like you have the ideal feeders though :) Definitely don't want my cuda's dying off, so it looks like I'm going to have to look a bit harder!

Mollies also work, and I'm told are less prone to eating the young than guppies. I think a 10g is a bit small for cons, but I know some have bred them in 10's.
