Feeder fish

Personally I like guppy/platy/molly feeders or rosy reds for larger fish. I've never used Goldfish but supposedly they're not good as feeders.

No, its actually not good to feed them live all the time. I give my Goldfish feeders every now & again. I actually got some young Guppies (friend who has them let them breed out of control & so I took most of them) today & gave them a couple. When I had my Angels & Oscars I fed them live foods (not just fry but different types of insects) more then I do my Goldfish.

I have heard that Platy are good colour enhancers but do not provide much nutrition

No feeder can live up to the nutritional value a high quality pellet will have. They are great to feed occasionally (esp gutloaded) but not as a contant diet, esp Goldfish since they are high in thiaminase, an enzyme that destroys thiamine (or vitamin b1).
