This is the fish that my LFS sells as Feeder Fish, 15 cents a piece.

Can anyone with a identify it?

That would be a shad, a very popular bait fish. I don't see them in the lakes I fish in but
I see lures fashioned after them all the time. I bet they would make great feeders if the size is right and you quarantine them properly.

Looks like a tetra to me too, and those would be all over the place in Panama.


Neither shad nor tetras have an adipose fin.
