I have a question-what kind of feeders can I breed at home for a couple decent-sized fish? By "a couple decent-sized fish", I mean either a Green Terror or Freddy cichlid, housed with either a Chaca catfish or a prehistoric monster fish (Thalassophryne amazonica). For those of you who don't know what the last one is, it's a really neat-looking toadfish from the Amazon and some nearby rivers. Do not suggest that I use convict cichlids as feeders, though. I used to have the pleasure of owning one, and he was the best fish I ever owned-beautiful, personable, and even intelligent. As such, I could never bring myself to use such a fish as food for larger fish. So, back to my original question-what's my best option to use as a feeder fish?

guppies

2 males and about 5-6 females in a planted 20 gallon,

it will take you a few months to get the adults larger and producing large groups.

i would suggest fancy guppies for breeders they seem to get larger faster.

feed the fry and adults small amounts several times a day for fast growth..large water changes,
