I have been thinking of buying some rosie minnows for my arrowana they are less than a inch and cost 3 bucks for ten. it seems like quarantine them for a week is what people usually do but all i can do about that is throw them into a white bucket i have and maybe put one of my sponge filters in there with an air hose. Would this be enough? bucket would be maybe 5 gallons.
Also how much salt would i need? how much per day etc. Id change the water in the bucket every other day. and feed them hikari food sticks.

For $3 you could just get some market shrimp and get about 100 times the actual meat than the minnows. Plus feeders are not a good choice for overall fish health, you can transmit disease and parasites!

damn that sucks where are you from to get feeders for $3 with that i get about 45 or 30 something depending on which Lfs i go to

yea i have quite the food selection tilapia, tiger prawns, krill, bloodworms, night crawlers, hikari food sticks. thought it would be fun to watch my arowana chase after some fish

I never quarantine them. Also the most I pay is $10.00 for 100. But the two stores I usually go to I either pay $7.50, or $5.00 for 100. $3.00 for 10 is a very expensive meal. Before I do that I would probably go to Walmart and buy a can of Jumbo Min by Tetra and fed that.

I agree with the shrimp idea..........Store bought feeders greatly increase the risk of disease being introduced into the aquarium.........$3-10 spent in the local Asian Supermarket will supply any growing monster fish for a whole a month.....
