I have about 100 baby jack dempseys. (About 25 are EBJD) Ive fed them since they hatched BBS but now it does not seem to keep them full. About once a day Ive been feeding them crushed NLS flake food. The female parent is in there with them and on ocassions I feed her frozen brine and the babies seems very interested in it but its just too big for them. Any advice on what to feed them. For not I think Ill stay with BBS and crushed flakes once or twice a day. I may try blending regular frozen brine. I do have some NLS growth food but have not tried it yet. Thanks for suggestions.

At 1 month old they should be large enough to take the NLS growth micropellets. That's what I feed to my fry. I also shave frozen bloodworms with a pair of scissors right into the tank.

I normally put nls grow, spirulina powder, and dried krill in my coffee grinder and blend it until it becomes a powder. Then I mix it with water and put it in a turkey baster, lastly, I squirt the mixture at the fry and they love it.

Hikari first bites if they are really that small. I would NOT feed bloodworms at all they cause heximeta in fish when feed regularly. If anything get this. I fed it to my convict fry when they where a month old. ImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1384709019.993303.jpg

Heres part of them feeding on live BBS. The NLS grow was too big but seem to pick at it on tank bottom.

As long as they pick at it that's good. I feed my cutteri fry carnivore pellets that were probably just as big as they were and they would pick at it.
