I got a Fuzzy Dwarf Lionfish awhile ago. I've been trying to feed him both table shrimp and mysis shrimp. I've never seen him eat the shrimps but he's been in there for awhile so he must be surviving off something.

What should I feed him to get him to eat frozen foods? I have a tank full of cherry shrimp, but That's more of a last resort. Help?

try ghost shrimp and put your frozen shrimp on a clear feeding stick and wave it around slowly to mix it in with the live to get him weaned over to frozen

lionfish are cool but the hard thing is to wean them off live... start with live food and try to get him onto other foods...

what i did with my lionfish was took a needle and black thred and put it through the shrimp so its not on the ground and floats .ive been able to train and know i can handle feed him

So you just bobbed it around in front of him? He seems to be scared of anything I stick in the water.

Also, if I decide to use live shrimp, how do I feed them? do I just put the shrimp in the water and hope the lion sees it before it dies. Or do I have to bring it close to his face?

the thread thing works but be careful doing so that when he eats the shrimp that no thread is consumed that is why I just use and clear eel feeding stick and play it safe

Also, when you put the food on the feeding prong if he doesn't respond immediately you can try tapping the prong on the inside of the tank wall....sometimes that gets their attention.
