In the shadow of death.....
My gurl just acquired a baby tiger O and we've been feeding him blood worms and cichlid flakes. Any suggestions as to what would be the best diet for him, taking into account nutrition, growth and best of all maintaining his brilliant colours???

I feed my oscars
hikari pellet, nls pellets, krill, beef heart, squid, prawns, arowana sticks, bananas, pears, peas, alegea weafers, mysis shrimp, I also add boyds vita chem to his meals. I go ovwer board but i do whats best for my fish.

any quality store bought pellet will be good for him, along with adding bloodworms, krill, tubifex and even earthworms to his diet a few days a week.

personally, i would try to not feed flakes. while they work well, and will be fine for your oscar, pellets will float until your oscar finishes, and wont be as messy in the tank, thus helping to keep water a bit better.

frequent water changes are key to a healthy oscar, and avoiding hole in the head. either small 10-20% water changes every few days/week, or large 50% every week-10 days which is what ive usually done.

Thank you guys. My gurl put her lil fella in with a full grown angel and at first the angel courted him i think(she curled around him and charged my face when i got close to have a look) and they were hunky dory. But the next morning the oscar went all chris brown on her so we sold her to our LFS.......
