I have a 125 gallon tank with asoerted large cichlids oscar 10" jd, 6 inch 4 inch gt 10" purruno cat i was wondering i feed them twice a day after they feed on the pellets they beg and beg for more. could i possiblly be feeding them not enogh. It is not a matter of growth i mean they will grow eventually. I dont want to over feed.i have a ehiem 2026 canister on the tank filtration is not the problem. How mcuh do u guys feed. I want my fish to grow. By the what is the avrage adult size of a male green terror:feedback:

My Oscars beg continually regardless of what you feed them.

I never went by the rule of "feed them what they will fully eat in 2 minutes". I feed them a little less than what they'll eat in two minutes when i give them pellets. If its worms, i'll give them 3x2 inch worms each as a treat. If its home made, 1 or 2 ice trays between the three of them to share (the O's are 5' each)

I look out for a slight increase in belly (chest area) size and a slight reduction in enthusiasm for food.

If i give them cockles, they gulp a few down each then retreat to their territories to digest.

I feed them in the morning and then in the evening.

Hope that helps.

probably not. all fish will keep begging for food until they are about ready to burst. Main thing to check is if they look full. If their stomach is concave then you need to feed more. If they they stomach is round or has a small bulge to it then you are feeding the right amount

If i gave my fish what they could eat in two minutes my water would go to ****. I do small feedings throughout the day, and I hand feed when possible, so I know whos eating. Not always possible depending on you schedule, but always helpful.
