Got a new "breeding" pair of angels around a month ago.
Sure enough, within a week, they had spawned on their tank filter.
Great parents, moved the wrigglers onto a spawning slate - handy! - but next morning all gone.
I'd forgotten about the three Cories I had in the tank to clean up any food the angels missed, so I guessed the hundred or so little wrigglers ended up as Cory midnight snack. Bummer.
Spawned another 2 times (Cories removed!), but ate the eggs.
4th spawning last Wednesday, pulled the filter with the eggs on it and put it in it's own tank.
Wriggling by Friday, the yolk sacs have now shrunk and they're threatening to come unstuck from their moorings!
How soon before free swimming, and when will they need feeding?
Put a batch of baby brine shrimp on tonight just in case....

Are there NO angel breeders on here?
This is the sixth day since spawning, the fry are looking nice and bright eyed with just a little bit of yolk sac, but still stuck to their moorings!
Will tomorrow be the big day?

So their not even wigglers yet? What's the tank temp. Usually it's 2-3 days until they hatch then another 3-4 for wiggler stage then free-swimming. Don't feed at all until their free-swimming, you will just pollute the tank when their wigglers.

I fed my Angel fry Daphnia my lfs has batches ready to go everyday. If you want them to live mom and dad will eat the babies I has what was considered a good parenting pair and they were still pretty awful when compared to other cichlids.

Statred free swimming exactly a week from spawning - right on schedule. They've been stuffing themselves with baby brine shrimp and are all doing fine!

A good way to keep the babys from getting sucked up into the filter is putting a car wash sponge over the filter intake.

Running one of these horizontally at the top of the tank. Lost a few fry, but the majority aren't bothered by it and seem to be enjoying swimming in the current from it.
Fry are in a 30"x18"hx12" tank, so they've got plenty of space!
