feeding beefheart question

how much is too much? iv heard ppl say that if you feed your bichir mostly beefheart it wolnt want anything but that. and if thats all they eat they will grow faster but wolnt get all the nutrients they need.. is this true or would i be ok fedding my sennys just bh.

feed a verity diet not just BeefHeart I feed my Beef Heart but not all the time ,Blood Worms ,Fish, Krill , Carnivore Pellets and Clam I raise my own feeders Rose Reds and Shrimp gut load them with enrich Mysis Glass Worms and vita. and then feed my Poly,s

beefheart is ok when added to a varied diet by itsself NO it will not provide the needed elements to promote good health-Anne

ok, i found some Massive Delight pellets but they are $44 and i dont have that kind of money right now. i plan to pick that up in the next few weeks and then just supplement his diet with raw fish from the freezer case and beefheart allong with the occasional feeder fish. thanks

mine just eat pellets.... carnivore and massivore with sinking cichlid gold every now and then if im feeding it... my ornate would get the occaisional piece of shrimp or smelt/silver side my ray didnt eat....

The Hikari Sinking Carnivore Pellets are smaller and cheaper. You can always start with those...

you can always start with normal, sinking cichlid pellets.

contrary to MFK lore, your fish don't need to eat better than you do lol. Hikari stuff is EXPENSIVE.

Actually Hikari is one of the best bichir food there is. Just ask Beblondie.

That's why it's so pricey too. Hikari knows it. And out here it is only $9. I know my fish are worth it.

i think ill just save up for the massivore and until then just feed them different types of fish and beefheart once a week. shouldnt take too long

Yeah it usually lasts awhile. Massivore is just bigger pieces, and costs more. Mostly same ingredients in both. I have a heck of a time finding the Massivore out here. So I use the Hikari Sinking Carnivore one.
