I know that people sometimes feed beefheart to fish but am wondering how often it can be fed to them. Could I just cut up a whole beefheart into bite size chunks and freeze if for later use?

Discus people use beefheart to grow fish fast and big. You need to devein and cut all the fat off first. Generally they either freeze it and shred it up in a salad shooter or food processor and freeze that or they make a mix with BH, fish, shrimp, pellets and a binder blend it up and freeze that. Or you can grind it like hamburger and freeze and feed like that. You are going get those who say beefheart is bad for fish and all that. I stopped feeding my juvie discus BH mix after frozen blackworms came out. I also feed NLS pellets.
I read more articles against it than for it so I chose not to use it. I feed NLS exclusively and have great results with my fish. I used beefheart for my black nasties and they ended up getting bloat as well as my green terrors. When I fed NLS exclusively never had promblems at all. So that is all I use.
