feeding BGK feeder fish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have 8 fancy guppies with my 6-7" bkg. They are all still there. Might be a little large yet for it. I did however put in 10 ghost shrimp. I can only find about 5 now. I might have sucked a few up while gravel vaccing though. Good luck though if you try some feeders. I hope that someone who has tried it responds. I'd also like to know.

I know that at night these guys make tetras (neons) go missing...

Unless he is pretty large it might not be eating feeders for a while. Plus I haven't heard of them eating feeders and I have seen larger ones with small fish without any problems

BGKs can food on feeders or smaller tankmates as long as they're big or the fishies are small enough. If it fits in its mouth, it'll probably put it in. :D

Best regards.

Daniel.

my guy has lived with tetra's from being a baby, never touched them once and he is nearing 12" now

My BGK is now about 12-13" and he mostly eats sinking carnivore pellets. I toss some ghost shrimp in from time to time, and they seem to mostly dissipear, though I'm not sure whos eating them, and also have done small neons, but they only dissipear maybe 1 a month or so, again whos eating them can't be sure, but the neons last so long by the time they do dissipear they are competing with my jumbos in another tank for size. Any one else who's had luck with live feeders of somesort I too would be glad to hear from.
