I have a ton of cheato algae in my saltwater reef tank's sump. I know black belts venture into the ocean to eat seaweed. Anything negative from feeding him some? I plan to wash the algae in some freshwater before I do.

I think with a little rinsing you will be fine, there will probably be plenty of amphipods living in the algae for him to snack on as well.
Gave him a dollop, shredded it up and gobbled it down. I guess it's safe, since the pellet food (NLS) contains seaweed anyways.
