I have a brackish tank with 4 green scats, one mono and 2 green spotted puffers the scats and mono enjoy the frozen brine shrimp I feed them and they seem to also hunt the ghost shrimp i use as feeders with the puffers, but I have heard that is good for both the scats and the mono to have blanched lettuce to supplement the thier vegetables. My question is what type of lettuce and is there anything i have to do to prepare it?

give them lettuce, cucumber, apple ect they will eat it all. there is no specific greens to feed them... they should eat it all. the only thing i would keep an eye on are things like plums. i had a mate put one in my tank after he read that silver dollars (had them at the time) eat fruit + veg. he neglected to tell me, so i ended up with a tank full of milk the next morning...:irked:

but yeah, any sort of green veg you throw in, they should have a good go at. just remove it after they have had their fill.

I give my brackish fish cooked processed peas they love em , just take the skins off first and squash them abit . It makes a bit of a mess but if you have a good filter it should be ok

Your GSPs are going to need more than brine shrimp to keep them healthy:

How big is that tank? It must be HUGE!
