I have a juvenile clown knifefish about 3" and I got some little feeder guppies for him today. My question is will the knife only eat as many as necessary at a time or will he try to stuff them all in his mouth and kill any others he can't eat? I am asking because I had a peacock bass that I thought would quit eating when he was full but kept on eating till he choked and I dont want this to happen to my knifefish.

Had a clown knife fish for around a year in which i always kept him on feeders (gambusia). I just kept his tank full of fish all the time and he did great :) So i guess no its not the case you can put as much feeders in as youd like... enjoy dude

i only dropped feeders/food in with the light on and turned it off when he was done ( started around 6" ) now mine dont care if the lights are on or off.lights go on he gets over excited so might be a good thing to try in the future . atm let him eat only with the over head room lights on or a dim light to get him use to it.
