Feeding competition problem

Feed from both sides of the tank. The adults will probably go for the side you put the food in first, then add food to the other side. After a few days the juveniles will learn food will be on both sides of the tank. It's how my current fish are fed.

divider....or get a stick... and push the other ones away from the food...i've done it

Thanks, lots of good tips that I'll try. I will feed the parents pellets on the right side of the tank, when they will be chewing, i'll give flakes to the juvies on the left side of the tank. If I see an adult on the left side, then I'll use the stick.

i sorta have the same thing going, but i have baby and adult platies and i feed the babies crushed flakes that are ground to flour and collect them with a wet toothpick and then dip the food covered toothpick and swirl it around a few times and the little pieces fall down to the bottom were the fry are but then again theyre realy small this might not work for you

I feed floating pellets and drop the sinking ones using pvc pipe all the way to the bottom.
