Im new to the cichlid world. I have a juvenile 1.5 inch convict cichlid. Would it be fine to feed it turtle pellets that have been cut to mouth size bits? and how often should i feed it now?
should be ok, but not as a staple food, best get it some cichlid pellet or flake.
and best feed it a couple times every day for the best growth result.
Have have a baby convict at the moment that is barely a inch.. I feed him tiny pellets that i think are meant to be for tetras in the morning and lunch and then Brine shrimp for Dinner.. He loves it whenever i come in to the room hes always at the top with his JD buddy who is the same size looking for food..
might be fine to do, but fish food would be more appropriate . . . don't need anything fancy, just pick up small small pellets at an LFS, cost you less than $5
You can feed green peas. You need to get some variety going. First get them on a staple diet, a good brand is hikari, this should be their main source of food. Then look into getting some other things like brine shrimp, shrimp pellets, krill, raw shrimp, ect. To thrive and do well they need a good diet.
