OK I am trying to feed some cucumber to some plecos and other bottom feeders... What is the best way to get it to sink? I did not think it would float. how do you make it stay down for them to eat?????:nilly:

Weigh it down with a fork, spoon or rock, or buy a vegetable clipper from a petstore.

try using zucchini, it is better for your pleco's. but yeah....forks, rocks, ect.

It will be better for anything... cucumber has a poor nutritional content. What are you feeding?

go with zucchini, better nutritionally

agree with everyone else in that zucchini and yellow squash has alot more nutrition. what i do is slice them longways and freeze them. then i take a few pieces and rubberband them to a rock and let it sink in the tank.. my pleco loooves the green skin on the zucchini!

I just use a strip of plant weight - a piece a few inches long, skewered through the cucumber with the ends then folded in on themselves to prevent the plec from damaging himself on the cut edges. Simply remove the weight the next day/once the cucumber/courgette is eaten.

i put a little bit of the gravel over the peice of cucumber and it stas down and they eat it.

even using a veggie clip on the side of the tank
