We put some stuff to thicken the grass and kill weeds on the lawn about 3 months ago. we had an entire month of heavy rain and lots of sunshine since then. Are the dandelions now considered safe to eat? I know that you can't use ones that have been treated with pesticides but surely by 3 months the ones that have now sprung up will not contain anything dangerous?

I ask because I have a bearded dragon and a red footed tortoise that love to eat the dandelions

i have heard ( while asking about my uromastyx that it take a LONG time for the toxins to come out, i wouldnt risk it

I wouldn't do it. Maybe next year but I wouldn't use any of this seasons growth. Best to go to a more remote area that you know for sure hasn't been sprayed. And as goofy as it might sound you can always grow your own dandelions.

Thats the problem we have loads and it wasn't until after i covered the garden in the stuff that I realised I'd been feeding it to my pets beforehand.
I will just wait til next spring then. Thanks for the information guys, I didn't want to put my pets at risk.
