I have a pair(now just the female for a while) of 8-10" hogaboomarum in my 125 which they share with 5 silver dollars(4") and a pair of centrarchus(3-4"). I have several sizes of NLS available from 1mm-3mm. Which size would be more ideal? I know you are supposed to feed smaller pellets but the larger hogs have a bit of a harder time chasing the tiny pellets around and trying to pick them out of ever nook and cranny. Would it be ok to feed the tank the 3mm pellets even if the little guys have to struggle a bit to eat them?

I've been loading up my eheim autofeeder with different sized pellets. Seems to work fine and everyone has their preference (and it's definitely not always big fish like big pellets). I have fed 2mm to a variety of different sized fish with no problems (biggest being the black belt in my avatar).

I feed sinking small pellets for my small guys 2-5" and i feed a large floating pellet for anyone bigger. i just serve them both on my hand and toss them in at the same time. the small guys chase donw the sinking stuff and the big guys just eat at the top their big pellets.

Ya I like to do a bunch of different size and type (floating v sinking) to mix it up.

My fish must be different from you guy's. They are much more interested in larger pellets if I throw both in at the same time. I have seen my silver dollars stuff 4-5 pellets in their mouths same with their cents.

SD's are gluttonous pigs, and will generally always go after the largest sized pellets being offered. If the 3mm pellets are working, then just feed that.
