ok
i dont wanna have to hatch bring shrimp.
i hear that you may feed fry very finely cruchsed pre soaked pellets. such as discus bio gold. full of goodness oh yes mmm mmm

has anyone tried th is?

i have tried this with flowerhorn fry, grew fast, big and well.
but never discus its myf irst time breeding.

i figure, start ;putting pellets for parents - and some crushed up to expose their senses to pellets, and fry should eat it.

any feedback?

well the adults prob eat worst things in the wild. but theres always those little organisms the fry eat. i heard of people using daphnia or something like that

I've done that with some other fish. I bet it would be ok.
The other option is SFBB sells frozen baby brine shrimp, those work really well too.

the main reason why i wanna feed pellets is not cos i dont like bbs, its cos i cant be at home to feed 4 to 6 times a day bbs.

questions:
1) will putting a giant clump of bbs inm the morning last awhile? i mean how long will bbs live in freshwater?

2) can i feed finely crushed pellets in the morning and arvo with auto feeder, then 2 to 3 times bbs at night when i return before lights out?

1.) Well, they will probably live about 6 hours at best, but the fry can still eat them recently after they have died. The only problem you'd have is keeping the water super clean, but if you fed them in reasonable amounts, any pollutants they create should be diluted, plus you probably have good bio filtration....

2.) That would work, the fry might grow just a bit slower only because they are fed less often, but I doubt it will have any noticeable effect. I don't like autofeeders, especially ones with pellets because they can be unreliable. They could dump anywhere prom no food at all all the way to all of the food at once with small pellets, and I have had both of these happen a few times.
