I have a 4 inch dolphin mormyrid currently feeding on blood worms. What has everyone been able to get these guys on? Just want to see if I am aiming cut fish or pellets. Also how have people broken them? thanks

Are these the hap and mbuna eating chisembe from lake Malawi? Please post pics.

Cut fish is what I would feed to these

Yes it is a chisembe. A piscavore and a scavenger, possibly omnivorous add well, a dream fish for me, but I will almost for sure never own one due to their size. What kind of water do you keep it in? They live in the low ph Congo, the high ph Malawi and Tanganyika, the euhaline Congo estuary, and temps from 50 - 78F, according to fishbase. Fishbase says they eat fish and insects, so cut fish, bloodworms, mealworms shrimp etc. might be good. What will you with it when it reaches five feet? Eat it?

are you referring to the cornish jack? I have the Mormyrus longirostris I was just answering your question to what is....

Also I honestly wouldn't hesitate to own a cornish jack in aquarium. What is the biggest one you have seen in captivity? I am sure you have read they typically have painfully slow growth rates in aquariums.

Yes,I was referring to the cornish jack, I thought you said that is what you have. What you have is much smaller. It is also omnivorous, and seems to be less likely to eat fish and more likely to eat invertebrates. Here is is Fishbase page. It sounds like an omnivore and a scavenger, probably easy to get to eat pellets. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...iMATAX&usg=AFQjCNEik0Bf_TpVhGFxs4J_zdmWmEPXlg
