Got myself a dragon gobie fridaynight. Don't like to buy fish I don't know much about but my boy just had to have it. Problem is he won't eat, I keep a bunch of foods in supply. Do far I tried an earthworm, frozen bloodworms, blanched peas, and currently I have two small guppies swimming around in there intended to be food. He hasn't touched any of it. Help!!!

Pretty sure that is a brackish water fish they are often kept in fresh water. When i was a kid i tried to put one with an african lungfish he would eat sinking shrimp pellets and tubiflex but it wasnt long before he turned into food. Does he physically look ok no ripped fins, cloudy eyes, inactive? Might just need a little time to settle in.

Noticed you have african cichlids is he in with them? They might be stressing him out as dragon gobys are peaceful and have bad eye sight. Just a thought.

Nope not with the cichlids, he's looks to be in decent shape and is in a 20 long all to himself. He had killed all his dg tank mates back at the lfs, also they did have him in freshwater. I'm planning on slowly turning his tank to brackish but I'm not sure how to go about that either

they dig and stir up the substrate and eat as they go, filtering what they stir up. Very interesting feeding behavior. If you let him, he will dig himself a cave and that will make him very happy/comfortable. They are brackish but do very well in FW, for a time. Once he gets bigger, long term success will be in brackish water. Mine learned to take shrimp pellets and massivore, but this is not a competitive fish. IMO this is a species that must be target fed

I had two for a few years and all I could get them to eat was frozen brine.
