Just wanted to know if I can feed the fish during treatment? He's got a cloudy eye for about a more than week now, so i moved him to a 10 gallon with Melafix and salt. Can I feed him regularly?

Thanks in advance.

Did you test your ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate levels? Cloudy eye is normally due to poor water quality, and so, if these aren't optimal (0 for ammonia and nitrite, under 20 for nitrate) the problem will return upon his reintroduction to the tank. Also, if you fix water quality in the main tank, you won't have to quarantine him, because the clean conditions should eliminate the symptoms. I know this isn't what you asked, but I just wanted to mention it in case you hadn't yet tested.

As for the question you actually asked (LOL) yes, you can feed him, but be aware that this is a small volume, and so you should take care not to overfeed. Possibly feed him less than usual? You don't want to stress the biological filter in the QT, resulting in poor water quality in that tank.

Thanks for the help. My water parameters were actually good. Maybe he is just too sensitive. When I first noticed it, I actually did some frequent water change, added some salt, and it actually went away. Unfortunately after a couple days later, it went back.I doubt it was my water parameters to begin with because I have a lot more other fish in the tank and he is the only one the got the cloudy eye. But thanks for you help.

Not a problem I just wanted to make sure that you knew. I'd say that if you feed sparingly, it will help keep his immune system up, as well, so that he can help himself heal. Definitely a good idea.
