I have my second Fahaka now (the one in my avitar died a while back) He is small right now maybe 2 inches. I feed him blood worms and an occasional pieces of freeze dried krill. I have looked for snails small enough but can not find any. What do you guys feed your baby Fahakas and maybe Mbus. thanks
Rob

I have read those articles I am looking for other opinions and he is about 2.5 inches right now. i cant find raw shrimp small enough for him so i was looking for alternatives.

im no pro, but my little guy loves his shrimp. mine is also small, about 3 inches, maybe 3.5

he eats small frozen shrimp from the asian market, frozen mussels (no shell), and gets live shrimp as a treat (ghost shrimp and cherry shrimp)

as far as finding something small enough for him, i dont get it? just put the food in, let him have a go at it, he will tear it up and eat what he can, then remove what he doesnt eat

ive got a leopard puffer thats too small to eat full grown snails so i just threw a bunch of adults into a 10gal and let them breed and fed it the babys

just break him off a peice of shrimp and let him have his way with it. i got lucky and had some crayfish spawn in my pond this summer and they made up most of his diet when he was smaller but i still gave him shrimp. earthworms will beef him up alot if he will take em. mine would not eat them till he got around 4". he is 6" now and he will eat anything but snails. i have alot of them in my pond also and he will not eat them. he kills them but does not eat them.

I feed everything from Krill frozen/freezed dried, earthworms, silversides (cut up and he loves to crunch the heads) bloodworms and snails. I can't find mussels locally so I am going to have to go up to the city for those. Unless I want to pay 3 something for one live one at the lfs. Also can't find crayfish small enough yet, he will just waste most of it right no.
Like someone stated above just cut the larger items up. Usually mine will just tear it apart.

since it's small, you're better off feeding him dead food and have occasional live treats... so he'll eat dead food cause when they get big, it will get expensive!.

right now, i bough this frozen 'seafood' medley at this asian super market that i've been giving him between snails, earth and bloodworms. it has squid, oysers and frozen shrimp. chop it to smaller pieces and hand feed them! l

i forgot mention that it was only 259 for a 500g bag
