feeding fire eel

soo i have about a 8 in fire eel ive had for about 3 months. when i first got him he ate krill whenever i offered ive given him mostly krill but occasionally when my lfs has earthworms i get those. But recently my eel has been swallowing the krill then spitting it back up. he acts interested at first spits it in and out a few times then forgets about it. any thoughts of what i could do?

I had the same problem.. I tried different krill and my guys starting eating again. The Krill they wouldn't eat was freeze Dried that I ordered off of the net.. Now I go with frozen Sally's Krill and they love it. You might have just gotten a bad batch
 
i do feed worms whenever i can get em my lfs hardly ever has em though.
the only places that do are a long drive away. ive only fed frozen krill but it could be a bad batch. ive also tried frozen bloodworms.

you can get worms year round here

Go to a bait shop that purchases their worms from a farm. My fire eel is pretty spoiled on earthworms, but if i don't have any for a few days he gives in and eats krill again.
