I just started feeding my 12" eel shrimp in addition to blood worms and earthworms. Is there a limit on how much shrimp I should be feeding him. Like once or twice a week? Some sites say to much is bad for them, others say it is a good staple for their diet. Mine loves it, but I don't want to make him unhealthly or take any chances.

I feed mine 5 krill every other day...

Variety is always best. Personally I feed shrimp minimally to my spineys. few reasons though, fresh seafood is hard to come across in the middle of Wisconsin... most the frozen shrimp in my area has preservatives... and freshwater shrimp/prawn are hard to come by at a decent price. most of my fire eels diet consists of earthworms, and I flesh it out with krill, and occasionally ghost shrimp.

I fed cooked coctailshrimp to my G. tile moray for almost 3 years. I switched him to fresh krill and he died 6 months later. Don't know why he died, don't believe food had anything to do with it he had a seizure then died eating mouth fulls of crushed coral. Just saying I don't think the cooked/preserved food was his end so you should be fine with it assuming you mix it with other things(as I did)
