Feeding fish in the dark ?

so i have my tank on a time.. i prefer the lights to come on at around 730-8 and go off an 730 an night. I leave for work at 5 am so i like to give them a small meal at 5 am.. an then again at 3pm is it ok to feed the first feeding with the lights off? will the fish still eat all the food in the dark or will i have problems any advice is appreciated..

Many fish prefer feeding with tank lights out. Ambient lighting from your room is just fine. Is this a planted tank?

no just fish.. thats what i figured

demasoni's, clown loaches, and yellow labs

Many fish like catfish and loaches primarily find food by smell, so light isn't an issue at all, but even visual feeders should be ok with a little light coming from outside the tank

I would focus the am feeding on the CL's and the evening feed for your cichlids.

i feed them the same food NLS cichlid pellets 2mm the loaches like em.. but my question was just about the dark feeding
