Feeding Fish Live Ghost Shrimp

Is it okay to feed your fish live ghost shrimp straight from the lfs? I know that feeder fish from the store can have parasites, but can the shrimp as well?

do what i do dump 50 gs in a tank throw in jpc tablet feed them for a week or two.
use them as food.

there is always risk with this, moreso in the lfs water than the shrimp themselves I imagine

Just make sure the ones you feed to your fish do not have horsehair worms in them. I can't remember any possible impact on the fish's health when fed with horsehair worm-infected ghost shrimps but it's always better to err on the side of caution and destroy the entire shrimp stock if infested with that worm. Very easy to figure that out since ghost shrimps are transparent and the worm can be seen squirming inside.
