Is it ok to feed Flower Horns earth worms? I just brought a Red Dragon and the was told no to feed it earth worms just Flower Horn food/pellets, because earth worms may prevent the colors from coming out, is this true? Also what is the PH range on Flower Horns. Also, how big do they get, and can they be kept with other cichlids?

earthworms are ok as a treat . make sure they come from a clean source though . they won't "prevent" colors from coming out , but they also don't have the color enhancers (astaxanthin and spirulina ) that are added to the pellet food . ph stability is most important over specific range . size varies , with some possibly getting huge . and keeping them with other cichlids is tricky . its been done , but you better have a backup plan (dividers , extra tanks ) ... good luck , red dragons are badass !

TO ANSWER UR QUESTION I HEAR THAT YES IT CAN WASH OUT THE COLOR BUT U CAN FEED UR FISH WHAT EVER U WANT HOWEVER IF U DO FEED HIM EARTH WORMS THERE ONLY TO BE USED AS A TREAT MEANING ((((((((NOT HIS MAIN SOURCE OF FOOD)))))))) ITS OK TO GIVE HIM THE WORMS EVERY NOW AND THEN AND SOME PEOPLE SAY THERE NOT GOOD FOR THEM CAUSE THERE HIGH IN FAT BUT ITS A NATURAL FOOD FOR A FISH SO HOW COULD IT BE BAD HUH BUT STICK TO A GOOD PELLET AND TREAT HIM EVERY NOW AND THEN WITH THE EARTH WORMS MAYBE SOME BLOOD WORMS OR EVEN KRILL AND HE WILL BE JUST FINE AND I KEEP MY pH AT AROUND 8.0-8.5 THAT HELPS WITH COLOR ALSO THE SIZE IS DEPENDENT OF THE TYPE OF FH U HAE IF ITS A ZZ IT WILL GROW TO ABOUT 11-12INCHES AND YES THEY CAN BE KEPT WITH OTHER FISH AND ONCE AGAIN ITS UR FISH U CAN DO WHAT U WANT WITH IT BUT THE FISH WILL BO BETTER BY HIM OR HERSELF AND IN DUE TIME EVEN BETTER WITH A MATE;) I HOPE U LIKE WHAT I I GIVEN U SO FAR AND GOOD LUCK GRASS HOPPER:)

I was thinking that the PH should be neutral some where between 6.6 and 7.2. I was thinking that 8.0 was too high. Can someone tell me understand what PH is good for Flower Horns, before I kill him? Thanks in advance.

and 7.0 is neutral and like i said its ur fish and u can keep it in 7.0 but from my trial and error they like a bit higher pH
