I’m just wondering some opinions on feeding fish store bought fish fillets vs feeding fish fresh caught fillets that you catch and fillet yourself i prefer fresh caught because this way I know if the fish was dead while being filleted and how long it was dead for along with knowing the environment the fish came from and health of fish when caught when if you buy a store bought fillet it most definitely came from a fish farm and you never know how well the fish are treated and raised there but I’m wondering this because the only fresh fillets I have are frozen catfish fillets which I’m cooking all today and about 14 crappie fillets in the fridge I filleted yesterday that are soaking in saltwater and this week it’s going to be really rainy and bad storms in my area and not sure if I can feed my fish a fillet that’s been in salt water overnight and not sure how much to trust store bought (store bought fillets are tilapia and fresh caught is crappie or bluegill depending on the day)

I use the store bought filets and soak in some vitamin solutions. Prefer the freshly caught if it’s disease free.

I have crappie in the fridge soaking in saltwater do you know if that affects the meat any like is it okay to feed to my fish if I rinse it off in freshwater for a while also what kind of vitamin solutions do you soak in can you send me a link or anything please

If you gonna try to feed fresh caught I would recommend to filet and freeze for minimum 48 hours to kill any parasites if any before feeding.
