I've this packet of bloodworms stored in the freezer for half a year now which I've completely forgotten.. Is it still safe to let my fh eat them?
I tried feeding the bloodworms & my fh ate up most of them.. but I'm worried of any ill effects..
Please advise.. thx

Does frozen meat go bad? I thought the major concern was from the de-hydration effect causing freezer burn, thus making the meat less tastey. We cooked a Chateubriand that got lost in the bottom of the chest freezer from 2007!

It was a shame that there was a slight freezer burn, but everyone gorged themselves, and nobody got sick!

The bloodworms are actually packed in cubes which is pretty cheap.. I should have stated that earlier..
May I ask what's freezer burn?

Almost all modern freezers utilize internal de-humidifiers. Long periods of time frozen in one of these freezers "dries out" the product. The dehydration generally will start to turn the color of meat brown giving the illusion of "cooking/burn", hence the tern freezer burn,

I might as well get rid of them then.. since I've bought back some new frozen bloodworms.. & thx leeman for the explanation..
