Hey I am getting 10 red headed severums or whatever their called. The rokteil ones. I got them off of aquabid, well not yet but after they get shipped to my house. And I have fry from my green terror and blue acara breeding. Their still small though not even eating crushed flakes yet, I hope soon though.

And was just wondering if it's okay to fed them fry to the severums. The person I' bought them from said they were an inch so I know they could easily eat the fry. I'm not planning on feeding them the fry yet cuz their just so small but when they get bigger could I just scoop a few up and throw them in there and let the severums go to town. Also how many times could I do this I mean once a a week, twice a week whatever. The severums will of course get flakes and frozen cubes and others so it won't just be live fish always.

I don't really want the fry from the terror and acara of course, i don't want any hybrids. I will keep a few to see what they look like when older but not for sell or anything. I'm planning on getting another acara and another terror so they can actualy breed within their species. And hopefully with 10 severums at least I will get a pair out of that. Well thanx for anything.:)

Should be fine, as the occasional treat. Sevs aren't great hunters though, especially as they get bigger, they'll start ignoring smaller foods, such as fry, brine shrimp and flake, its just not filling enough.

Get them started on a good quality pellet as soon as you can, and make sure to feed plenty of fresh fruit and veg to really get them coming along.

Best of luck

Ya my green terror has started to ignore th flakes lol. Today I put some in and the Acara of course went rite up there and ate some and the terror went up and stared at it and went back down to it's fry, lol. I was like wtf is wrong with you, lol.

I put in a frozen cube mixed with stuff and an algae wafer and it ate it all real fast. it's getting big.

Sure u can feed them fry 2 or 3 times a week would be good.

chances are your severums are not going to eat other fish, fry or not. Theres always a chance though.

Agree'd. mine wont even eat guppy fry now their fully grown out. they do love woodlice (pill bugs for our American audience :D) a good addition, to thin out fry (as i found) is a syno, or a pack of loaches. They'll pick of just about anything they can catch.

Best of luck
