I guess this would fall under nutrition.

Im wanting to get some thought on feeding fry. I am feeding newly hatched brine along with a mixture of crushed flakes, cichlid gold and dried krill, with a little spirulina for vegetable matter.

Any thoughts?
What is your process? do you feed something different?

Hello; Squeeze the insides out of a few uncooked sweet peas. This is good veg and is soft so the small fry can eat it. I have done this with fry and also from time to time as a diet change for adult fish . I take a spoon full of uncooked sweet peas straight from a can. I have a paper towel in the hand holding the spoon. I squeeze the pea into the water andwipe the skin onto the paper towel. Some fish can eat the pea skin and I will throw the whole pea in tanks with those type fish after squeezing the pea just enough to break it open. I also will throw a few pea skins in a fry tank as they will peck at the and eat the skins over a few days. For very small fry the skins and pea insides seem to promote the growth of infusoria and I have seen tiny fry grazing on the this for several days.
I have also seen just free swimming fry graze on the surface of a mature air powered sponge filter. I suppose they are finding something on the surface.
I once threw a mature sponge filter from a tank into a tank with a large pleco. The pleco sucked on it for a few days and eventually cleaned the entire surface.
